Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

Today we picked Dad from work (or should I say...we had the driver take us to meet Father) and took him out for dinner at Thai Thai (an Asian restaurant in KSA), Thomas treat.
And here is Father and kids...
They look so happy! Love this pic.
I am the one behind the camera, hahaha
...

I had a very busy day today and I will tell you all about it!

To start with I had my first Quilt meeting in the am and joined the Quilt Guild, I am a member now...so exciting, can't wait to start working on some Quilting projects, but will have to wait until after summer vacation.

And right after I went to a fundraising luncheon event where the Rabat ladies were selling their unique handcrafted things. I visited their home last week and ordered some of their pot, phone and eye glasses holders and got them today... Soo exciting!

But who are this Rabat ladies, you ask...Well some wealthy family in Saudi donated this apartment complex for women whose families cannot support them. So this family pays for their homes, utilities and for those who are still young, education. They make all kinds of different handcrafted things that they sell at local bazaars to provide for themselves. I find it so great that they are doing this, specially since the culture that they were brought up only allows them do do so much. I will be posting some pictures tomorrow of the things I bought so you can see the great stuff they make.

Then came home, and before I knew it was time to go out again for dinner...busy day!

What a good day it was, I met some very nice people that I am sure I will be seeing often...

And I have to say that there is a person responsible for all of this running around lately. And that is Ros, an Australian lady I met on a Quilting encounter back in April outside of my compound but she lives in the same compound as I! (how crazy is this??? I have to go outside to meet an insider!!!)

And what a woman she is, she has been such a help to me... She has been showing me around all the best places to go to buy specific things and introducing me to wonderful people...she has been living in Saudi for quite some time now and this year she is moving back home for good. I just can't believe it! I met her just recently but she has been such a sweetheart to me, I really feel sad that she is leaving but I am happy that I have met her and she will be remembered for sure. Like in all my visits to the ribbon souk, and fabric shops and all this great places with great deals...ahahah

Anyways, she has been helping to make my experience here so much more enjoyable that I am forever thankful to her! Thank You Ros, Xoxoxo

And finally ended up my day chatting away with my mom-in-law on the phone telling her all about my latest findings and how I will fill up my suit cases with goodies from abroad.

The retired stamps list is out, you can view it under the Stampin'Up! Catalogs & Publications.

That's it! End of my day, kiss the DH nightie night and go to bed.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Stampingly Me!
