Happy Halloween!

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend and for those of you that were out celebrating Halloween I hope you had a great time!

I did this banner last year (2009) when we were still living in Jeddah, its hot during the month of October so I hanged the banner on the patio umbrella.
I made this using the Bigz Dies Top Note and the Serif Essentials Alphabet (both are on page 207 of the Current Idea Book & Catalog)  I connect them with black gingham ribbon. You can make banners out of this 2 die cuts for any occasion, and its fairly easy.
The picture is not the best, I know, but I hope you get the idea! I had to go dig on last year's pictures :) to find one with the banner, and the only one I had was of the whole patio so I cropped it. I was glad I had it ;) I hope this will inspire you!...

Have a great Sunday, keep happy!

Season's Greetings!

Today's card has been one of my most popular cards for over 3 years now, still a hit... and even after so many I have made I still love it! It mails flat on a regular medium envelope.

Isn't this so cool??? Wouldn't this make a great place card in a holiday table setting??? And I already though of a couple of other colors I want to use. I will be posting more of this in the near future. Enjoy :)

I plan to make a PDF with detailed instructions and pictures, so look for it soon.

Christmas Ornaments

I had a really really busy day! Did I say really busy????
I still have a couple of minutes before the end of this day ;) So here I am
Trick or Treat was today and Thomas had so much fun, he was such a brave boy... This year he dressed up as Buzz Light Year, he was so really cute!...

Remember those very easy Ornaments I told you about yesterday? Here they are.

They are so simple to make, all you need is 4 2-1/2" circles of a patterned paper of your choice then you join them together, fold them in half, staple in the middle 2 staples is plenty, punch a small hole on one of the ends for the cord, tie the cord, open the circles and voila... you have a super easy ornament!
You can even mail them flat, what a nice surprise to open your Christmas present and inside there is a paper ornament!?!... Hope you enjoy them!

Will be back tomorrow.

Simply Merry Christmas

Hi there, I was so inspired yesterday that I even cooked an Indian dish for dinner... Chicken and Rice Biryani. It was yummy!
I came up with the easiest ornament for Christmas. I love when something that randomly comes to mind works just as I pictured it, I will be posting it tomorrow :) so don't miss it!

Today's card is one of the simplest cards to make, I like to do intricate cards and don't mind a challenge but when I make the ones where less is more I get thrilled, this is how I feel about this card, so simple and easy yet so... you tell me!

I love the color, the simplicity and elegance... For a while I was holding the card on my hands and thought to my self: I could add some brads, or I could add some glitter, or or or... and in the end I decided that it didn't really needed anything else :) what do you think???

I added a fine border of Old Olive on the Very Vanilla piece by running it directly on the Old Olive Ink Pad. I hope you like it as much as I do ;)

Here is the recipe:

Stamp Set:
Contempo Christmas
Card Stock:
Chocolate Chip 5-1/2"x8-1/2" scored and folded at 4-1/4"
Old Olive 5"x3-1/2"
Cherry Cobbler 4-3/8"x2-7/8"
Very Vanilla 4-1/4x2-1/4
Inks:
Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive
Accessories:
Chocolate Chip Ribbon

Have a great day, will be back tomorrow same time, same place!

Christmas Swirl

Hi there, I woke up very inspired today, lets see what is that all about throughout the day :)

Did I mentioned that Im in love with the colors Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade???? Well today's card is made using those same 2 colors...

I had to try different angles before I could get a decent picture of this card, and this was the best I could do, the reflection of the rhinestones kept appearing so dark that wouldn't show the true beauty of this
card. Photography is another one of my passions that I have yet to master... when I have a little more time...

So I decided I would also try a close-up to be able to show you the details more in depth ;)
This card has very simple lines and its a fairly easy one to make. I hope you like the detail of the dots I added with Poppy Parade Marker (fine side) Enjoy!

Recipe:

Stamp Sets:
Snow Swirled and Holiday & Wishes (Retired)
Card Stock:
Poppy Parade 5-1/2"x8-1/2" scored and folded at 4-1/4" and 2-7/8"x3-3/8"
Pear Pizzazz 5-1/4"x4"
Whisper White 2-3/4"x 3-1/4"
Inks:
Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad and Poppy Parade Marker
Accessories:
Poppy Stitched Poly Ribbon Poppy Parade
Green Rhinestones
Stampin Dimentionals
Ticket Corner Punch

Have a wonderful day, will back tomorrow!

Elegant Thank You

Hi,
Mondays are usually the day of the week that I picked to clean the house, and then try to maintain (sometimes a rather hard task) during the rest of the week. So now you know what I will be doing today :) but before I'm off cleaning I wanted to create my post of the day  for you;)

I just love the new colors Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade and what fun names they have!!!
I made some christmas cards in these same colors too that I will be posting soon ;)

Today's card is made using the Growing Green stamp set. I colored the flowers and leafs with blender pens using Ink Pads, to use this technique just hold the ink pads with closed lid and squeeze them right in the center, when you open the ink pad you will see that there is some ink stuck to the lid, I just pick up the ink from the lid and gives the colored image a watercolor look, you can also do it with ink refill bottles but you will have to be careful to not pick up too much ink.
DO NOT PICK UP INK WITH BLENDER PENS DIRECTLY FROM INK PAD!
Having ink on the lid of your ink pad will not affect the ink pad in any way, to clean simple use a damp paper towel or a baby wipe.

Recipe:

Stamp Sets:
Growing Green and Because I Care (Thank You greeting)
Card Stock:
Pear Pizzazz 3-7/8"x3-1/8" and 5"x1-1/2"
Poppy Parade: 5-1/2"x8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"
Whisper White: 3"x3-3/4" and loose pieces for flowers and oval greeting
Inks:
Black Stazone, Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzaz Ink Pads
Accessories:
Brads, Oval Punch, Stampin' Dimentionals, Blender Pens, Handheld Smallest Circle Punch to punch holes for brads.

Have a great day!

Spooky!

Hi there! I hope you are enjoying your weekend, its going to be a nice sunny day today so I'm planning to take the kids to the park. We will not have many more weekends like this before starts to be really cold and snowy so we better take advantage of it!
Today's card was one of the 5 designs picked for the September Stamp-A-Stack. Even though I do not usually send out Halloween cards I fell in love with the Wicked Cool stamp set, its so much fun!

I hope you enjoy today's card. Its made using the Wicked Cool Stamp Set. I used Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White Card stock, for ink I just used Black Stazone. I used the Scallop circle with DSP and crimped it to make the skirt, i used the Bat punch to create a window where the word Spooky appears, I stamped the hat on a separate piece of paper and then used a stampin'dimentional to add it on, and for the bow I used black gingham ribbon.

If you have any questions  about a card or a project, just drop a comment or send me an e-mail at sofiaraimond@hotmail.com

I will be back tomorrow, have a great day :)

Merry Christmas From the Sock Monkey

Hi there, I have to say that I was a bit skeptical when I got the Sock Monkey Set... I wasn't sure I would like it that much, but after my "Unfrogetable" set was retired I was desperately in need to find a set that would be fun to play with and would be appropriate for kids and grown ups alike, I think I found it!!!... I love the Sock Monkey and he is so very versatile.

Today's card is made using the Sock Monkey, Sock Monkey Accessories and Christmas Greetings Stamp Sets, Jolly Holiday DSP, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Card Stock, Cherry Cobbler and Black Stazone Ink Pads, River Rock, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Markers. I case the layout from Heather Summers card she posted on her blog in August. I love the layout, the colors and the monkey, I love everything about this card!!!... I hope you love it too :)

Will be back tomorrow with another project! Have a great day!...

Birthday Wishes

Hi there, I am in love with the owl punch, I created this card for the September Stamp-A-Stack and the girls loved it too. What a fun punch and almost no stamping involved...

Isn't it so cute??? I used wild wasabi, pumpkin pie and night of navy card stock, the DSP (can't remember what was called) and striped grosgrain ribbon are retired, then I used Birthday Wishes from the current hostess set Occasional Quotes in pumpkin pie. So adorable!!!...

Will be back tomorrow with another project!

Today's Quote
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning". - Albert Einstein

Hi, thank you for stopping by my blog :) now that Im beginning to get truly settled again I will be back to my blog and monthly card classes, I hope you like the blog's new look as I play with different designs.
I would like to let you know that now you can shop for Stampin'Up! products online too on your own time from the comfort of your home. I just signed up for a demonstrator website :) check it out  at http://www.sofiaperkins.stampinup.ne

Isn't this tree the most adorable paper tree??? I just love it... When I first did it I thought it was so easy to put together I decided that it would be the bonus project on the October Stamp-A-Stack monthly class... I made it a secret until everyone was done with their cards... I was so excited to show them, and it was a success!...
I will be making more of these for sure, and I plan to put together a PDF with pictures and instructions.
Enjoy and comeback tomorrow for another project!
